About Us
Lorantffy Care Center is an equal opportunity housing non-profit 501 3(c) nursing and rehabilitation care facility located in Akron – near Cleveland, Ohio. We are licensed by the State of Ohio and are Medicare and Medicaid certified.
Established in 1974 by the Rt. Rev. Tibor G. Domotor, Lorantffy caters to seniors’ medical, dietary, social, physical, and spiritual needs. Since inception, our facility stresses a family-like atmosphere.
Lorantffy Care Center is a 51-room, one-story building equipped with comfortable, spacious, and fully-furnished units. Each room is painted or designed to be unique – much like that of one’s own home. We encourage residents to surround themselves with their furniture and personal belongings to make them feel at home.
Our Philosophy
We believe in stimulating the mind, body, and soul of everyone that chooses to live their lives with us. Our activities are plentiful and vary from games and exercises to movies and meditation. We interact with our residents in a professional and mature manner and treat every resident of the Lorantffy Care Center as if they are an extended member of our own family.
Our Approach
We make every effort to ensure the transition from a personal residence to our home is a smooth one. Every resident’s health, safety, and happiness are of utmost importance to us.
Before being placed in our care, we prefer to have a meeting with the family or caregiver to understand a resident’s personality, likes, dislikes, religious background, physical and mental limitations, and dietary requirements.
Once settled in, we regularly check on a resident’s progress and monitor their health and wellness. We make sure all residents eat properly balanced meals, encourage involvement in some social activities and interaction, keep up a regular personal hygiene regimen, and are an overall happy and content member of our family.
We also regularly assess our resident’s physical and mental condition and alert the family and attending physician if there is any significant change.
