History
Bishop Tibor G. Domotor, born in 1929 in Budapest, Hungary, was forced to immigrate to the United State in 1956 based on his involvement with the Hungarian freedom fight.  He served as the full-time pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Alliance and was later elected pastor of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Akron, Ohio, uniting two Hungarian Reformed Churches in Akron.  He was renowned for assisting people from Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Vietnam, and Cuba find employment and begin a new life in the U.S.

Once in the United States, he met his wife Elizabeth.  Together and with the help and blessing of Cardinal Mindszenti, Rt. Rev. Lasos Ordas, and Rt. Rev. Laszlo Ravasz, the Domotors began building a nursing home for the Hungarian elderly, believing that they yearned to still remain in touch with their heritage while living in America.

Though Lorantffy Care Center embraces the Hungarian history, today the facility caters to elderly men and woman of various backgrounds.  While English is a primary language, nursing and staff members are fluent in Hungarian, German, Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian, Slovakian, Slovenian, Croatian, Italian, Bulgarian, Estonian, Chinese, and Vietnamese.
